ACCELERATION: 8.5/10
2.0L inline-4 turbo
221 HP @ 5500 / 258 lb-ft @ 1800-4000 RPM8-speed dual-clutch automatic
6.7 second 0-100 km/hr
BRAKING: 7/10
138 ft to stop from 100 km to 0 which is pretty long for the class.
The brakes are a bit grabby because the pedal feel light
HANDLING: 8.5/10
Feels great but don’t expect it to be sporty.
RIDE: 8.5/10
Strikes a good balance of comfort and sportiness
ECONOMY: 8.5/10
24/33/27 MPG (City/Highway/Combined) AWD
CABIN NOISE: 7/10
Road noise was pretty evident
EXTERIOR: 8.5/10
Body got a bit more muscular from the last gen.
INTERIOR FOR DRIVER: 8.25/10
Although it is the cheapest Mercedes Benz SUV it still delivers to give that MB experience
Has Android Auto and Apple Carplay but no wireless
As expected with all Mercedes it has it’s MBUX system
Seats have a good range of motion and is comfortable
Has a driving feel like a car
Only thing I wasn’t really a fan of is driving at very low speeds when I parallel park. It feels a bit jerky
INTERIOR FOR PASSENGERS: 9/10
Rear passengers have a good amount leg space unless you’re 6”2 or taller!
40/20/40 folding seats. Great to fit longer items while still being able to seat two passengers in the back
Panoramic roof comes standard and lets in lots of light in the back
INTERIOR STORAGE: 9.5/10
15.4 Cu Ft. It’s enough room for most families but if you need more space the GLB has 24 Cu Ft. thanks to it’s boxier design.
There’s some added space under the floor
OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE 2021 Mercedes Benz GLa250:
The redesigned 2021 GLA250 is like day and night from the last generation. It has the perfect combination of power, and handling. It’s a terrific vehicle to drive daily! If my money was on the line I’d go up a class and get their all new GLB for the larger cargo capacity to future proof myself when our family grows.
