Dinesty on Robson

Although Dinesty won many awards, we wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here. They are average at best, but in the West End, they fill the void for acceptable Chinese food. It's a decent option for those who live in the area and don't want to make a trip far. It's very friendly to customers new to Chinese food as there are photos for every menu item and the interior is very clean. There is usually a wait for a table but it shouldn't take too long as tables are in and out pretty fast.

Ramen Danbo on Robson

This franchise is our favourite pork ramen in Vancouver. The only thing is, we found the Robson location slower with receiving our food after ordering comparing to the Kits location. The benefit is that this is a larger shop.

UYU Ice Cream

UYU Ice Cream offers fun & interesting flavours that are very photogenic in their modern space. It's a local favourite that is insanely hyped on social media. However the texture of the ice cream needs work. It tasted thin and a bit on the icy side, like it has freezer burn. Maybe we went on a bad day?

Excellent Tofu

Tofu pudding is a staple in Cantonese dessert that can be served cold or hot, sweet or unsweetened, and plain or toppings. Excellent Tofu is a no frill's looking shop serving up the best tofu dessert in the city in our opinion. In China, tofu pudding is actually served for breakfast and is topped with savoury toppings instead of sweets.

Nelson The Seagull

Nelson the Seagull in Gastown is a rustic bakery and coffee cafe that pays tributes to Nelson Mandela with a song, "The Seagull's Name Was Nelson". The song was played on the radio by his supporters to let him know they were thinking of him while being imprisoned.
